Last night at Wildfire...

So, Sunday night was my last official night as a Youth Leader for Wildfire. I feel like I need to say a few things about it since this is a very significant move for me.

When I was a sophmore in High School a friend invited me to a Sr. High lock-in at her church. This was a life altering moment for me. Youth Group changed my life. I could go on and on with the reasons why, but I'll just mention a few. First, the other people in that group became my best friends. We saw eachother through a lot of tough stuff. Issues with dating, how to walk our daily lives with God, in fact they were with me the day my brother died. Second, it is where I learned to serve the Lord. We served, not only on missions trips, but weekly in the Church. We did things like lead VBS, we lead Worship, we were on all sorts of committees. Lastly, I mentioned the missions trips. If it wasn't for youth group, I would not be where I am today, pursuing a life in missions.

I started serving as a Youth Leader in Wildfire a little over 3 years ago. I had taken a break from serving for about 5 months (I was a youth leader in my previous church for about 4 years, right after I graduated High School) and was ready to get back involved. I was not able to form the close relationships for almost a year of serving. It was the MAZE that helped me to establish those relationships. Then there was New Orleans, that was a great group of students. It is so rewarding to be able to see God work through a teenagers life is such a huge way. It is overwhelming to know He used me to do some of that work.

Although I plan on getting involved in Sr. High when I find a local church in Minnesota, I am really going to miss being involved here. I love these students and cherish my relationships with them. I am praying that God would raise up more leaders to get involved. That other adults would be able to experience the abundant blessings from serving the Lord in this way

Thank you to all of my students who have added greatly to my life. I am inspired by you!

I love you,

MegaDeath
