CHINA 6 - Gaining New Perspectives

Hello Friends,
Can you remember times in your life where something that you saw, heard, or did changed your whole perspective on life? I am sure you can. I experienced such a moment on our way to the city we are in now. To get here we had to take a 12 hour train ride. Up until this point I had managed to not use the "bathrooms" on the trains, but I knew going into this leg of the journey that this was a record I would not be able to keep. If I haven't explained fully already, China does not really have "Western Toilets", they have what we refer to as squatties. Or as I like to refer to them as, glorified holes in the ground. Well, the squatty on the train isn't even much of a glorified hole, it is mostly just a hole. If you dare to look you can even see the tracks below.
All this to say, that once I used the squatty on the train and had to fight gravity and the unpredictable sudden movement of the train, all the while trying not to fall or even touch anything, my perspective on life changed. Suddenly, every time after that if the train jerked a little or when we got on the bus and it rocked a slightly I thought only one thing, "Dang, glad I wasn't in the squatty for that one!"
So the next time you are in a plane experiencing some turbulence, or the driver of the vehicle you a riding in takes a turn to fast, or the train jerks a little from changing tracks, just be glad that you weren't in the squatty!
Love and Hugs!!
