Update...

Hi Friends,

I wanted to give you a quick update on the goings-on after Friday nights’ dinner. It was a fairly good turn-out on Friday. There were around 50 people that came out. Most of the attendees were already supporters of mine, however, there were a few new monthly commitments made. That night my support went from 67% to 70% with hope for more. Sunday morning was met with a nice surprise. A quick and spontaneous announcement was made during the second service for my support. Although there was some confusion as to the $$ amount I needed being in monthly pledges, I received enough 1 time gifts (mostly in the form of twenties being slipped into my hand as people dashed out the door) to get me through the month of November. I now have another month to support raise before running into any major financial difficulties. Praise God for His provision!!!

More good news. My missions committee took the initiative to ask about putting another insert into this week’s church bulletin along with a support card and envelope (I know, I have the best mission’s committee and church support in the history of missionaries. I think even Paul would be proud). With the assistance of Chris, the mission chairperson, the insert was put together tonight. And with the help of my boss back in MN, the additional support cards and envelopes should arrive tomorrow. Just in time!!!

Even more good news. Since Friday night my support has gone up more. I am now at a nice round 71%. Looking at the raw numbers…I need $759 until my church kicks in their support ($625). At that point I will be at 94%. I will only need $217 more in monthly support after that to be at 100%!! To simplify…I need about $975 more in monthly commitments to reach 100%. Soooo doable!!

Not as good news but not surprising, so it’s all good anyway... Although several calls have been made, we haven’t seen much fruit come from contacting other local churches about the ministry or support for me. I was suppose to have a meeting on Monday, but that had to be canceled. I am still waiting to hear back about when we will reschedule. Hoping Thursday sometime.

Prayer Requests…

Please pray for all the people who took support cards on Friday and on Sunday. That they would seek the Lord and give as He leads them.

• Please pray for all the people who will see the insert this coming Sunday. Again that they would seek the Lord and give as He leads.
• Pray that I will have the eyes to see the other avenues to pursue. New people, new churches, whatever that would be.
• Pray for boldness for me to ask when I need to. Sometimes I just need to ask…and instead I can become gripped by fear. So, courage too I guess.
• Pray for my time left here at home. I have been able to spend just a little time with a few people. It has been great, but I always feel like it’s not enough. I am grateful to have so many great people that I love and love me that I don’t have time to spend with all of them.
