Well, it's a new year and with it brings some new challenges and some old ones.
We'll start with the new. Pretty consistently, since I turned 18, I have had to move almost every or every 2 years. Now 27, this tradition has not changed. I am moving again. Where, you ask? At this point we are looking to stay in the same area. One of my roommates is pursuing a different adventure and my other roommate and I cannot afford the rent on our own...so, the searching has begun. To be honest, although I really like the house we are renting, I've begun to appreciate the adventure in moving. The only thing I really don't like is packing and unpacking...I still have some boxes packed from 3 moves ago (going to go through those boxes before this move, should be interesting).
I am really excited to have an intern at Royal Servants for the next few months. This isn't so much of a challenge, but it's too fun to not share. I like the idea of having a little concentrated help during our busy time, but mostly I love the idea of being able to share the ministry with someone else. I love what we do and what God is doing here, I'd like to share it with everyone!!
Some old challenges...I am excited to see how God is going to work out my support raising. I trust that when God calls us into something, He provides the means for us to accomplish His work in it. I don't know how He is going to do it, but I trust that He is. It is exciting to think about the people He will rise up to give and the possibility of it being people that I don't even know yet.
I guess that leads me into a question for you. I've asked it before, but I thought I'd ask again. Do you know anyone who might be interested in this ministry? It's hard because our natural tendency is to rule out people based on our understanding of their (or everyone's) financial situation. But I would simply ask that you would take time to really pray that God would reveal to you anyone who might be willing to hear about this ministry and what I am doing. Let me know. I need to widen my circle of friends!!!
Other than that, things at Royal Servants is going pretty smoothly. We are in the major recruiting time of the year. Our staff are all over the country speaking at schools, churches, and mission conferences. Some of them will be gone days and weeks in order to share the vision of this ministry. I am seeing the fruit of this labor as the applications come in. We have 8 teams planned for this summer and I am excited for another great summer of serving God!
Prayer Requests:
- For God to bring more people across my path that I can share the vision of this ministry with and ask for support.
- Deepening relationships with the young ladies in my small group.
- Wisdom in selecting a new place to live!
