Hello Loved Ones,
I have officially worked 5 days now. Think about the first week of work at some of your jobs. Do you remember how you felt? Were you like me at my last job and felt a little lonely and out of place, wondering if you made the right decision (did I mention I started in the mail room in my last job. I gave the mail cart a nickname...Captain Squeaky...I even decorated him.)?
I am so blessed to report that my first week here was awesome! I am starting to be in contact with students and parents, answering the phones and returning messages. I am so grateful to have been in the job that I was before this because of all of the ways it has prepared me for this job. I love that I am a help to this ministry. Usually starting to answer a phone is not easy in a new work environment. You are still getting to know the policies and who does what. It can be intimidating. It is an amazing thing for me not to have that fear or intimidation. Amazing! It makes me able to jump right in...which for me, is the best way to learn. I have a long way to go...a lot more to learn...but I feel ready and equipped to tackle anything (don't you just love new adventures!?!?!?!)
Being here is truly more than I could have known to pray for. I love my boss, I love my coworkers, I love this ministry, I love my job, I love living out God's purpose in my life, I love my Savior (not in that particular order). Can anyone tell I am excited?
Okay, back down to earth for a minute. Here are the things that are going on that I need prayer for. We are talking about me going on a trip this summer, please pray that it would be made clear if I should go and what team I should go with. Pray for my heart as it pertains to home. I miss home and all the friends and family that go with it. Pray for a new church and small group. I am enjoying visiting churches, I have been here 1 week and have been to 3 with another one tomorrow, it's fun. Lastly, please pray for my support. In particular, for my continued diligence in calling and writing. I am trying to remember that I am raising funds for the advancement of the kingdom through this ministry.
Thank you for all that you have and are doing. I feel your prayers. I appreciate your generosity. Please let me know how I can be praying for you.
Hugs of love!
