Hello Friends,
I want to tell you about my night tonight. At the end of everyday, we gather together as a team and debrief the day's events. While we have been at this school we have been meeting on the roof. We have also been trying to do w*rsh*p everynight together here as well...on the roof. It has been an amazing experience. Tonight, was no exception, actually I felt more of the Father's presence tonight than any other night. I don't know why, but let me tell you, it was amazing. So amazing, that I feel like the enemy doesn't want me to tell you because the computer is wigging out. But I am more determined.
So here is the scene. We are on the roof and the only lights are the lights of city, the stars, and the headlamp of the guitar player. The weather was beautiful. Probably 80's with a nice breeze. It was a mostly clear sky, we could see the stars and moon. We have sung a few songs, but the last one we sang, we have sung a dozen times over the summer. Tonight, however, the words hit me like they hadn't before. Try to imagine the scene and think of all of the Chinese people who do not know the Father and have never even heard the name of the Son and here we are, singing these words out to the father with them in mind, on a roof overlooking their city.
You're the G*d of this city.
You're the King of these people.
You're the L*rd of this nation.
You are.
You're the light in this darkness.
You're the hope for the hopeless.
You're the peace for the restless.
You are.
There is no one like our G*d
And there is no one like our G*d
Greater things have yet to come and
greater things are still to be done in this city.
Greater things have yet to come and
greater things are still to be done here.
The truth is that there is no one like our Father. The work that we have done in this city is just the begining. Greater things have yet to come and have yet to be done in this city and in this nation. These people are beautiful and made in the image of the Father. They have tremendously caring hearts and so great at hospitality. We are new to them, but we are here, breaking down the walls of communication, and breaking down the stereo types. We are building relationships and creating an interest in the Father. Maybe no one will accept the Father during the week that we are here, but I think that what we are doing is exactly what He has intended us to do.
Do you know that less than 1% of the Chinese have a relationship with the father. That means that there are billions of people who don't know him and that have never even heard his name. But the Father is here in abundance. I get to serve the living G*d in China and literally praise his name from the rooftops. What the heck, my life rocks!!!
You know what though, the chinese are not the only ones who need the father. There are so many people that I encounter everyday, who don't know anymore about the father than the people here do. I yarp that my life would reflect this enthusiasm for who my Father is everywhere I go. I yarp that the students lives would reflect this same passion when they go home. I yarp that we can make disciples, who will make disciples, who will make disciples. Did you know that JC yarped for us? Yep, this team, this family, me, you...John 17.
With all of the love that the Father has given me I send to you...and a hug!!!
Mags
P.S. I wasn't kidding, my life really does rock. Thank you for being a part of my rocking life!!!
