Hi Friends,
From the outside Brooke seems like a quiet girl. Easy to get along with. The rest of the students on the team love her. She is kind to everyone. If you didn't see Brooke in the midst of ministry, you would not suspect that she is the evangelistic dynamo that she is.
I was not surprised when Brooke walked boldly up to a group of men after the team performed their skills group in a village in Pokhara. Surprised? No, not surprised, but seriously impressed. I'm not even sure that I would have done what Brooke did. She walked right up to this group of men and started a conversation with them about the dramas and about Jesus. I don't remember what came of the conversation. I don't think any of them gave their life to Jesus. But I do remember something, I remember all of the men talking with her and listening to what she had to say. Maybe none of them made a commitment to Jesus that day, but I'm sure it is a conversation that they will not soon forget.
Brooke has been on Royal Servants teams before. She had seen first hand the power in the ministry done through Royal Servants. She'd seen lives changed. Why do I do what I do? Why would I give my life to serve God, live on the generosity of others, leave home for months every summer? For the same reason Brooke and so many others come back through Royal Servants year after year. Because of the lives changed by the power of the Gospel and the name of Jesus in the darkest and remote places of the world.
Jesus' name is being spread in power in the country of Nepal is becoming transformed, one life at a time, and He's using teenagers to do it. Surprised, no, just impressed!
Blessings!
Mags!
