***URGENT PRAYER/FINANCIAL REQUEST***
El Carro, my beloved Chevy Cavalier, is terminal. I wasn't originally going to do a financial ask in this newsletter, but this weekend I discovered that my cars new noises are more than just embarrassing, they are in fact unsafe. It sounds like the least of it is a new braking system...the most...who knows? My car is not worth the cost of an oil change, let alone new brakes. I have been raising funds for a new car for sometime now, but as long as Carro was getting me around, I was doing ok. No longer. I need your help. I need to raise about $3500 more to get a newer, healthier, and trustworthy car. In theory I could just go grab any ole' car for the money I have, but being a single woman in ministry, I recognize that I need something that is going to last and not require a lot of work in the future (or even a little for that matter).
If you are able to give any amount to help me reach my goal, I would greatly appreciate it. There is a link on the right for my car fund if you would like to give online. You can give over the phone at the number below, just go to ext 728. If you prefer to mail a check you can send it to: Reign Ministries, 5401 W Broadway Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55428. Just put S065P in the memo line.
Thank you for whatever you are able to give. If you are like me and strapped for funds, please pray. I know that God has the resources, I just don't know through whom He will deliver them. Thank you! Below is the rest of the original email...enjoy!
Hi Friends,
Eli is a fantastic young woman who brought a lot of laughter and joy to the team this summer. Eli is an American missionary kid living with her parents in Ecuador. She speaks fluent Spanish and English, and communicates love and joy wherever she goes. Here’s a couple of excerpts from Eli’s summer report…
“What made a fire burn within me was seeing hundreds of people line up in the cold rain, just to enter a temple courtyard, to sacrifice. That’s when our street ministry became more than a routine of “drawing in a crowd”. It became a deep burning passion within me to tell the Nepali people about my new life through the freedom we have in Christ…
“Through a slow journey, God continually gave me more and more boldness to be able to walk up to complete strangers, and through a translator, tell them what I believed and answer questions concerning my faith…
“But all in all, I’ve received from God a new life. A new purpose to living that does not consist of hollow expectations, worthless possessions, and empty echoed prayers. I have received an indescribable gift of grace, a new found knowledge of surrender and a deeper understanding of forgiveness.
“I see now how God’s love transcends all language barriers and I have received a heart of understanding and a soul of passions through this summer in Nepal.”
I don’t know about you, but reading about Eli’s experience was like pouring gasoline on a fire for me. I am encouraged and affirmed again and again about the ministry that God is doing through Royal Servants.
Many Blessings of love!
Mags
